Inside Rooted in Hope

The Word Revealed began with my 80-year-old momma, Margie. After recently losing her husband, she entered a new season of life and moved from Missouri to South Carolina.

As you can imagine, it was a season filled with change, grief, adjustment, and learning how to move forward one day at a time.

After getting settled, one of her greatest prayers became finding ways to support me in this new venture and season of building Clean Slate Expression.

She wanted to help in whatever way she could. Like many creative journeys, it took a little trial and error.

A little experimenting. A little figuring things out as she went. And eventually, she found her place.

Rooted in Hope.

You see, my mom has always loved God's Word. Over many difficult seasons throughout her life, she learned firsthand the importance of staying rooted in Scripture. During one particularly challenging and overwhelming season, she began copying passages of Scripture using multiple Bible translations and rewriting them into story form.

It became a way to slow down. To focus on God. To understand His Word more deeply. And to keep her heart anchored in truth when life felt chaotic.

Because the Word of God is alive.

It teaches us.

Guides us.

Comforts us.

Corrects us.

And reveals God's character and promises to us in every season.

Now, in this new chapter of life, that same love for Scripture has found a creative expression.

What began as a personal journey through God's Word has blossomed into creating visual pieces inspired by the verses that have meant so much to her over the years.

Layered canvas scripture scenes. Creative displays of biblical truth. And whatever else God may place on her heart to create next.

One of my favorite things to witness has been watching her creativity bloom. Gifts and creative expression that sat quietly for many years are now being given room to grow. And that is a beautiful thing.

My mom continues to inspire me through her love for God, her faithfulness through difficult seasons, and her commitment to remaining close to Him. She reminds me that no matter our age or season of life, God is never finished working in us. There is always room to grow. Always room to learn. Always room to create.

The Word Revealed is a room dedicated to exploring Scripture creatively, thoughtfully, and prayerfully. A place where God's Word is not only read but reflected upon, expressed, and shared.

So let's remain close to God, dear friend. Let's spend time in His Word daily. Let's allow it to teach us, encourage us, and transform us. And let's allow His truth to be revealed in our lives, one day at a time.
